High Performance Technologies, Inc. (HPTech) is an infrastructure-centered firm focusing on practice, research, policy, and technology transfer. HPTech was established in 2003 with the primary purpose of serving the U.S. federal government at their facilities and project sites. HPTech is currently pursuing a major federal contract and we are identifying candidates who would be interested in working with us should we be awarded the contract. At this stage, we are looking for a Systems Engineer who will be responsible for providing support on all aspects of software and systems engineering for a federal transportation safety research and development (R&D) program, including developments focused on connected and automated vehicles. The position will provide expert advice, consulting, and assistance and apply such expertise in the planning, testing, and deployment evaluation of safety-focused software and systems engineering projects. The position will also formulate guidance, standard operating procedures and practices, and systems acceptance for safety-focused research.
Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in computer science or engineering.
At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in software and systems engineering related to transportation safety R&D.
Thoroughly knowledgeable in systems engineering tools that are applied in transportation, including the National ITS Architecture and the Systems Engineering Guidebook for ITS.
Demonstrated experience in leading software or systems engineering projects supporting highway safety.
Excellent verbal, presentation, and writing skills.
Excellent team and collaborative skills.
This anticipated position, which is contingent upon the contract award to HPTech, would be based in McLean, Virginia.
