Project Civil Engineer

High Performance Technologies, Inc. (HPTech) is an infrastructure-centered firm focusing on practice, research, policy, and technology transfer. We are seeking a Project Civil Engineer to support national highway infrastructure research programs, including pavement, bridge, and related performance datasets. This role involves hands-on engineering analysis, data validation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams supporting FHWA’s InfoHighway™ data platforms.

Responsibilities

Support engineering tasks for LTPP InfoPave, LTBP InfoBridge, and related research programs.
Perform engineering reviews and validation of pavement and bridge performance data.
Analyze field, laboratory, and inspection datasets to ensure quality.
Collaborate with senior engineers, data analysts, and database teams.
Contribute to reports, TecBrifs, and other technical documents and engineering deliverables.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (master’s or Ph.D. in civil engineering preferred).
8+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, 5+ years with a master’s degree, or 3+ years with Ph.D. degree.

Experience working with large engineering datasets or infrastructure performance data.
Ability to interpret field measurements, inspection data, and laboratory results.
Experience with engineering data visualization and advanced analytics.
Familiarity with FHWA research programs and data portals (InfoPave, InfoBridge, InfoPTF, etc.).
Strong analytical and communication skills.
