Database Analyst

High Performance Technologies, Inc. (HPTech) is an infrastructure-centered firm focusing on practice, research, policy, and technology transfer.  HPTech was established in 2003 with the primary purpose of serving the U.S. federal government at their facilities and project sites.  Our uniqueness lies in our ability to integrate physical sciences, social sciences, engineering, planning, and policy when developing and delivering infrastructure solutions.

​HPTech is currently pursuing a major federal contract and we are identifying candidates who would be interested in working with us should we be awarded the contract.  At this stage, we are looking for a Database Analyst who will be responsible for administering, testing, and implementing database solutions salient to the needs of the research portfolio. The position will conform to established data security measure and protocols to safeguard the data including any PII data. The position will define the overall schema for efficient data storage and retrieval, implement optimal querying for analysis, establish appropriate software requirements for human input and retrieval of data, and employ robust Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures to ensure high data quality. The position will support work involving geographical information system (GIS) database, data collection and management and video image processing.

 

​Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering.

  • At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in database management, design, and implementation.

  • Capable of exploring and implementing Big Data approaches, including Cloud Computing, Big Data Hosting, Big Data Analytics and Big Data Mining.

  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and writing skills.

  • Excellent team and collaborative skills.

  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) certification or similar certification.

​This anticipated position, which is contingent upon the contract award to HPTech, would be based in McLean, Virginia.
