Data Analyst

High Performance Technologies, Inc. (HPTech) is an infrastructure-centered firm focusing on practice, research, policy, and technology transfer.  HPTech was established in 2003 with the primary purpose of serving the U.S. federal government at their facilities and project sites.  Our uniqueness lies in our ability to integrate physical sciences, social sciences, engineering, planning, and policy when developing and delivering infrastructure solutions.

 

​HPTech is currently pursuing an upcoming major federal contract, and we are identifying candidates who would be interested in working with us should we be awarded the contract.  At this stage, we are looking for a Data Analyst who will be responsible for performing research in the FHWA’s Long-Term Bridge Performance (LTBP) Program. LTBP, a long-term research effort on-going for the last 15 years, is aimed at collecting high quality bridge data from representative sample of different types of bridges across the nation to help better understand their performance. The data analyst shall be primarily responsible for acquiring, managing, analyzing, visualizing and interpreting the acquired data.

   

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Management, or Statistics.

  • Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst.

  • Experienced in statistical analysis, machine learning and artificial intelligence.

  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.).

  • Knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc.), databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks).

  • Technical expertise in data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.

  • Experienced in data analysis software like MATLAB.

  • Familiarity with different data visualization schemes, and 4D representation of data.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Excellent team and collaborative skills.
