Communications Specialist

High Performance Technologies, Inc. (HPTech) is an infrastructure-centered firm focusing on practice, research, policy, and technology transfer. HPTech was established in 2003 with the primary purpose of serving the U.S. federal government at their facilities and project sites. Our uniqueness lies in our ability to integrate physical sciences, social sciences, engineering, planning, and policy when developing and delivering infrastructure solutions.


​HPTech is currently looking for a communications specialist responsible for tasks and activities related to communications, outreach, and document publication.



  • Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, evaluate, and provide outreach for stakeholder engagement activities.

  • Coordinate logistics and communications in support of events, including use of social media, public announcements, and collateral material as needed.

  • Perform duties in task management and execution of outreach activities including advertising, direct marketing, collateral, promotions and other marketing materials.

  • Contribute ideas and design artwork, using a wide range of media, including photography and computer aided cinematography.

  • Perform editing and formatting of scientific reports and presentations.

  • Design, create, and modify websites.

  • Maintain and update a Communications and Outreach Strategic Plan and an annual Communications and Outreach Implementation Plan.



  • At least an undergraduate degree in business, marketing, communications, journalism, English language, or a related field.

  • At least 4 years of related experience.

  • Excellent writing and editing skills.

  • Excellent verbal presentation skills.

  • Excellent team and collaborative skills.

This position would be based in McLean, Virginia.
