Asphalt Project Manager

High Performance Technologies, Inc. (HPTech) is an infrastructure-centered firm focusing on practice, research, policy, and technology transfer.  HPTech was established in 2003 with the primary purpose of serving the U.S. federal government at their facilities and project sites.  Our uniqueness lies in our ability to integrate physical sciences, social sciences, engineering, planning, and policy when developing and delivering infrastructure solutions.

 

​ HPTech is currently pursuing an upcoming federal contract, and we are identifying candidates who would be interested in working with us should we be awarded the contract.  At this stage, we are looking for an Asphalt Project Manager (APM) who will be responsible for managing an asphalt program at a government facility, focused upon technology transfer of emerging asphalt technologies. The position will be responsible for all aspects of the program performance, including hands-on participation in technology transfer activities, personnel management, and oversight of the quality and timeliness of deliverables.

  

Qualifications

  • An advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in civil engineering, with a concentration in pavement materials, particularly asphalt.

  • At least 15 years of experience in the field of asphalt technology, including 5 years of project management.

  • Demonstrated experience in the areas of asphalt mix plant production operations and equipment, asphalt mixture laboratory and performance testing, and the Superpave System.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in asphalt construction operations.

  • Proficient in the use of computers for data analysis and management.

  • Demonstrated experience in technology transfer activities, including demonstrations, workshops, and seminars.  

  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and writing skills.

  • Excellent team and collaborative skills.

  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.

 

This anticipated position, which is contingent upon the contract award to HPTech, would be based in Washington DC.
